The Twilight Saga: Eclipse opens this week. Congratulations to Rene Haynes, Stuart Aikins and Sean Cossey, the casting team on this film. Rene and her team conducted an online open call with ActorCast last summer looking for new actors to play alongside Taylor Lautner in the Wolf Clan. ActorCast received over 3,000 video submissions from all over North America.

Grown Ups Opens This Weekend

Grown Ups opens this weekend. Congratulations to Roger Mussenden and Jeremy Rich, the casting directors on this feature film. With casting sessions in New York, Boston, and Los Angeles, Cast It served as the central online hub for the casting directors to upload actors, actor profiles, reels and auditions. The director, producers and studio execs could then log in to Cast It to view this project and the casting materials.

Discovery Awards Open Call Begins

In association with the CSA, The Hollywood Film Festival, and Yahoo Movies, The Discovery Awards will be given to the top male and female actors who submit their self-taped audition for this open call. Karate Kid Kicks The Weekend

The Karate Kid won the weekend box office race, pulling in an estimated $56M from Friday to Sunday. Congratulations to the casting directors PoPing AuYeung and Zoe Thompson. With casting directors in Los Angeles and Vancouver, and the studio’s internal casting executives, Cast It was used as the primary online hub for everyone to view, comment and ultimately approve the casting of over 160 separate roles. The entire casting lasted for over a year.

Lost, and Finally Found

Tonight, the final episode of Lost airs on ABC. Six seasons of twists, turns, questions and very few answers, finally come to an end. Congratulations to everyone who worked on Lost, and most importantly, April Webster and Rachel Sutton, the casting directors for the show, and the entire casting team.
